I would agree ...very weel though out vision said in a very simple way.....

How ever i do agree networking is an essential part..to build & execute ..people are the building blocks...its all about connecting the dots, finding the right opportunities & making your dream a reality!
As Abdul Kalam Azad Stated " Never stop dreaming, as you dream become your thoughts & your thoughts become your actions " :)

This is one of the best posts on entrepreneurship I've ever seen, seriously. It really breaks down the simplicity of it all. It's all about buckling down and getting started. I would say the one thing you're missing is networking. It's important that if you have an idea and aren't sure how to get it done, then find people who can help you either by being a partner or leading you to a person that can be.

I particularly love your last point about giving control. Steve Jobs is the exception to the rule, very rarely do micro-managers have as much success. I often feel that founders choke their companies into paralysis. They sometimes prevent them from growing.

Hi Jinal,

I agree to all the points so does every reader. I have seen people following such idealogy initially but in the mid-way its only money that matters and later on the ego due to success makes many entrepreneur blind towards the idealogy.

Hi Jinal,

Really good post.
There is lot to learn in life..your post has worked as igniter to some of my thoughts and helped giving them proof.

Finally, Dennis has summed up everything with his points as well.

Hey Jinal,

Great post, especially your points on execution, inspiration and delegation. I feel like I'm in the same "training period" that you refer to, and I'm excited about getting to the next stage when the time comes.

Here's 5 things I would add:

1) As a leader, you're always setting examples (good and bad)for those around you. If you're always positive, show up early, etc. then your employees will follow suit.

Accountability starts at the top. Companies with "Do as I say, not as I do" attitudes create apathetic employees.

2) Continue to network...all the time. If you try to network when you need something, it's already too late. You need to nurture your relationships, or they will wither and die. Regardless of which industry you pursue, the bottom line is that EVERY business is a RELATIONSHIP business.

3) Don't be afraid to hire people smarter than you. As a leader, you don't need to have all the answers. You just need to know how to find them (or hire someone who does).

4) Respect and learn from everyone in your company, from Senior Executives all the way down to the mailroom - their insights can be invaluable.

5) Focus on building your strengths instead of trying to turn around your weaknesses.

I hope this helps.
